About the role

You’ll be the first boots on the ground in the Product Marketing function, joining at an exciting time where you will be expected to own the broader marketing strategy and coordinating execution across the board. We are looking for a self driven and analytical individual who is passionate about our customer base to bring our products to market. You will drive demand and usage of the product, determining how to position the product and create our go-to-market strategy. You will work closely with the product, sales, and customer success teams to deeply understand our customers and to develop the company’s approach to those needs. This is an exciting period to join the company - you will work closely with the Management team at Gravity Sketch to turbocharge our growth.

Progression in the role

The Product Marketing role will provide you with insights across the business and give you the opportunity to help shape the strategy in all elements of the Marketing function. We would see the successful Product Marketing Lead becoming our Head of Product Marketing and build out their own team. Over time, the successful candidate could grow into overseeing the Marketing function as VP of Marketing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Improve understanding of our user base and refine buyer personas through conducting interviews, survey research, and collaboration with the Sales and Customer Success teams

  • Support the Sales and Customer Success teams through understanding customer needs and pain points, gathering feedback, and developing marketing collateral - over time, together with the content marketing team

  • Ensure product is appropriately positioned on the market through in-depth competitive landscape research and customer research

  • Develop messaging and positioning of new products and product upgrades

  • Develop go-to-market strategies and launch plans for new products and product updates; manage execution of these campaigns and evaluate performance

  • Analyze the effectiveness of product marketing initiatives across the user life cycle

Requirements 

  • 2-5 years of experience in a highly commercial and analytical setting such as strategy consulting or investment banking

  • Strong interest in marketing, and an ability to quickly pick up new knowledge - any knowledge of product marketing strategies is a bonus!

  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and positive energy when approaching new tasks or projects

  • The self drive and motivation to hit the ground running

  • A strategic outlook, while still holding a great level of attention to detail

  • Analytical mindset, willing to dig deep into our customer's needs and gather all of the information possible from them before creating our strategy

  • Strong research skills to interview users, conduct desktop research and try competitive products to deeply understand competitive landscape and user needs

  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to clearly and concisely explain information to various audiences

  • A desire to continuously learn and deepen your technical marketing and sales knowledge through self study

  • Deep problem solving abilities to work in an autonomy-driven fast-paced start-up 

  • Negotiating skills to coordinate between different teams and key stakeholders, and to advocate for the needs of the customers in relation to the product 

  • Extensive project management skills, and the ability to manage stakeholders
